INSTRUCTIONS OF USE

Thank you for choosing a Nautrix timepiece, a reflection of craftsmanship, precision, and adventure. To ensure that your watch performs at its best and remains a lasting companion, please follow these detailed instructions for use and care.

1. Automatic Movement: How It Works

Your Nautrix watch is equipped with a self-winding automatic movement, meaning it harnesses energy through the natural movement of your wrist. Here’s how to keep it running smoothly:

  • Winding: When worn regularly, the movement of your wrist will automatically wind the watch. However, if you haven’t worn the watch for more than 48 hours, we recommend manually winding it.
  • Manual Winding: To wind your watch manually, gently unscrew the crown (if applicable), and turn it clockwise about 20-30 times. Do not overwind, as this may damage the movement.

2. Setting the Time

  • Pull the Crown: Gently pull the crown out to the second position (or first position, depending on your model). The second hand will stop, allowing you to set the time precisely.
  • Set the Time: Turn the crown clockwise or counterclockwise until the correct time is displayed. After setting the time, push the crown back in to resume the watch’s operation.
  • Note on AM/PM: When setting the time, make sure you distinguish between AM and PM, especially if your watch has a date function, to ensure the date changes correctly at midnight.

3. Setting the Day/Date (if applicable)

For watches with a date function, follow these steps:

  • Pull the Crown to the First Position: Turn the crown until the correct date is displayed. Do not set the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can interfere with the date-change mechanism and potentially damage the movement.
  • Push the Crown Back In: Once the date is set, push the crown back in fully to ensure the watch resumes normal operation.

4. Water Resistance Guidelines

Nautrix watches are designed to withstand water exposure, but it’s essential to respect the water resistance rating of your model. Here’s a guide on proper care based on the water resistance level of your watch:

  • 50M (5ATM): Suitable for swimming in shallow water but not recommended for snorkeling or diving.
  • 100M (10ATM) and Above: Suitable for swimming, snorkeling, and other water-related activities. However, not intended for deep-sea diving.

Important Water Resistance Tips:

  • Make sure the crown is fully pushed in or screwed down (depending on your model) before exposing the watch to water.
  • Avoid operating the crown or any buttons while the watch is underwater.
  • Rinse your watch with clean, fresh water after exposure to saltwater or chlorine to prevent damage to the materials.

5. Care and Maintenance

To keep your Nautrix watch in top condition, regular care is important:

  • Cleaning: Wipe your watch with a soft, dry cloth to remove dirt and sweat. For deeper cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth, but avoid immersing your watch unless it has a high water resistance rating.
  • Strap Care: Leather straps should be kept dry and conditioned occasionally to prevent cracking. Metal bracelets can be cleaned using a soft brush and mild soapy water, followed by a thorough drying.
  • Avoid Magnetic Fields: Keep your watch away from strong magnetic fields, as they can affect the accuracy of the movement.

6. Storage

When you’re not wearing your Nautrix watch:

  • Store in a Cool, Dry Place: Keep the watch in its original box or a watch case to avoid exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
  • Use a Watch Winder: If your watch will not be worn for an extended period, consider using a watch winder to keep the movement running and prevent oils from settling.

7. Safety and Handling

  • Avoid Impact: While your Nautrix watch is built to endure daily wear, it’s still a precision instrument. Avoid dropping or exposing it to strong impacts, which could damage the movement or crystal.
  • Temperature Exposure: Avoid exposing your watch to extreme temperatures (both hot and cold), which can affect the movement and materials.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Watch Not Running: If your automatic watch has stopped, it may simply need to be wound or worn regularly. Wind it manually or wear it for several hours to restore power.
  • Inaccurate Timekeeping: Automatic watches may gain or lose a few seconds per day. If the deviation is significant, your watch may need professional regulation by a service technician.
  • Condensation: If moisture appears under the crystal, avoid further water exposure and contact our customer service team for advice on resealing the watch.
